Applebee's, one of the largest family restaurant chains in the nation, came to Digital Lagoon looking for the most efficient way to train over 1000 restaurants on every new seasonal menu. Working with Baker Communication Associates, Digital Lagoon's solution was to integrate video production and interactive CD-ROM programming. The video production demonstrated the hands-on aspects of food preparation, customer service skills and nutritional information. The interactive training was developed as a testing and tracking device that was designed to be fun and entertaining to do. In the first year of implementation, information retention was enhanced by 20% while overall costs in training dropped by 10%. Since that time, Digital Lagoon has shot and edited numerous training videos. |
